Vikrant Massey has garnered significant praise for his performance in the film “12th Fail.” Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the movie portrays the inspiring real-life journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame various challenges to become an IPS officer, including working in menial jobs like cleaning toilets and striving against all odds.
In an interview with Unfiltered by Samdish, Vikrant reflected on his early days in the entertainment industry. He shared insights into his decision to transition from television to cinema, despite earning a substantial ₹35 lakh per month from his TV career.
Explaining his rationale, Vikrant expressed dissatisfaction with the regressive content prevalent in television. Despite achieving financial security and even purchasing his first house at the age of 24, Vikrant felt compelled to explore the world of cinema for greater fulfillment. He emphasized that financial success did not equate to inner peace and happiness.
Vikrant’s decision to leave television, even with a lucrative contract in hand, was met with shock from his parents. At the age of 24, earning ₹35 lakh monthly was a significant accomplishment, particularly for someone from a middle-class background. However, Vikrant prioritized meaningful work and personal fulfillment over financial gain.
Moreover, Vikrant Massey shared the support he received from his then-girlfriend, now wife, Sheetal Thakur, during his auditions. After exhausting his savings within a year, Sheetal provided financial assistance to help him pursue his acting aspirations.
Vikrant Massey and Sheetal Thakur tied the knot in 2022 and recently celebrated the arrival of their first child, a son.
