Hrithik Roshan’s movie “Fighter” is steadily approaching the coveted ₹200-crore milestone. On its 17th day, the Siddharth Anand directorial garnered ₹3.7 crore (across all languages) at the domestic box office, as per reports from Sacnilk. The film’s total earnings now stand at ₹192.95 crore. “Fighter” marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, with Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi also featuring in significant roles.
Jointly produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, “Fighter” promises an enthralling mix of action and drama. In a behind-the-scenes video released by the makers, director Siddharth Anand expressed, “The mission was to create a film about the Air Force that they can take pride in, something authentic. We used real planes, choppers, bases, and hangars. ‘Fighter’ has involved years of preparation, an incredible amount of effort, and the collaboration of hundreds of people.”
Adding insights, Anand emphasized, “I wanted to capture the maneuvers of the planes, their training, briefings, and the specific lingo they use.”
In a review by NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee shared thoughts on “Fighter”: “Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Deepika Padukone) discovers love amidst soaring through the skies against all odds. Group Captain Rakesh Jaisingh (Anil Kapoor) exemplifies leadership with his adherence to protocol. Meanwhile, the antagonist, terrorist Azhar Akhtar (Rishabh Sawhney), fuels tension across the border.”
“Fighter” revolves around these characters’ journeys, with its 166-minute runtime featuring exhilarating dogfights and daring air sorties. While the action impresses, it falls short of delivering excitement that justifies its 3D format, as noted by Chatterjee.
