Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently undertaking an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, spanning from today to tomorrow. During this period, he will engage in discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. Following his UAE visit, PM Modi will proceed to Qatar from February 14 to 15.
In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi expressed anticipation for his seventh visit to the UAE and his second visit to Qatar since assuming office in 2014. Highlighting the importance of the trip, PM Modi emphasized the significance of the India-UAE friendship and his eagerness to meet President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Over the past nine years, India’s collaboration with the UAE has flourished across various sectors including trade, investment, defense, security, food, energy, and education. The cultural and people-to-people connections between the two countries have also strengthened significantly.
PM Modi’s itinerary includes the inauguration of the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, symbolizing values of harmony, peace, and tolerance shared by both India and the UAE. He will address the Indian community in Abu Dhabi during a special event titled ‘Ahlan Modi’.
In addition to his engagements in the UAE, PM Modi will address world leaders at the World Government Summit in Dubai, upon the invitation of UAE Vice President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He will also meet with the Ruler of Dubai to bolster multifaceted ties.
Following the conclusion of his UAE visit, PM Modi will travel to Qatar where he will meet with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The visit aims to strengthen historically close and friendly relations between India and Qatar, focusing on political exchanges, trade, investment, energy partnerships, culture, and education.
India and Qatar share strong people-to-people ties, with over 800,000 Indian expatriates residing in Doha. This visit underscores the commitment to further deepen bilateral relations between the two nations.
